COVID-19 Impact Assessment Survey - The Second Year

This is the result of the second impact survey to determine changes and further impact of the pandemic on nurses.  This survey builds upon past surveys and includes questions on mental health and well-being, financial impact, access to PPE, perceived organizational support, and intent to leave. 11,964 nurses completed the survey between January 8 – January 29, 2022.

America has suffered over 1 million deaths due to COVID-19 and the nation’s nurses continue to struggle through the tragedy. As of this study, 60% of acute care nurses report feeling burned out, and 75% report feeling stressed, frustrated, and exhausted. Younger nurses have been particularly affected. Only 19% of younger nurses feel their organization really cares about their wellbeing. Half of nurses are considering leaving their positon in the next 6 months...
