Biden-Harris Administration Planning to Cover the Cost of Over the Counter COVID-19 Tests for People with Medicare

On Thursday, February 3, 2022, CMS rolled out information on the Medicare coverage of Over the Counter (OTC) COVID-19 Tests Initiative.

Under this initiative, starting spring 2022, Medicare beneficiaries will be able to access up to eight OTC COVID-19 tests per month free at cost. These FDA authorized or approved OTC tests will be available through eligible pharmacies and other participating entities.
