Call For Nominations! Standing Committee on Personal Protective Equipment for Workplace Safety and Health Deadline: February 7, 2022 at 5PM ET

The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine are searching for experts to be considered for the Standing Committee on Personal Protective Equipment for Workplace Safety and Health. This committee is sponsored by the National Personal Protective Technology Laboratory of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health. The standing committee serves as a forum for discussion of scientific and technical issues relevant to the development, certification, deployment, and use of personal protective equipment (PPE), standards, and related systems to ensure workplace safety and health. The scientific support includes, but is not limited to:
- Providing independent scientific assessment of various PPE Program research, policy and standards, conformity assessment, intervention and surveillance initiatives; and
- Providing expert scientific assessment of the PPE Program approach toward addressing emerging scientific issues and issues of international, national, and industry-based priority – including those related to the COVID-19 response.
We are specifically looking for five experts in fields related to occupational safety and health, including labor organizations, social and behavioral science, health communications/promotion, PPE product standardization and evaluation, and PPE supply chain management and delivery systems.
