Nurse requests

Posted over 4 years ago by Meredith Roberts

Request for care:

There is a young child in DCF custody who is medically fragile. Foster care placement requires finding someone who can provide a safe, loving home but also one that is aligned with and knowledgeable about the child’s special medical needs.  Currently, the child is residing in a medical facility. Our hope is to find appropriate placement for them within proximity to medical services but in a home with loving caregivers.

Someone in the nursing profession, active or retired, could be ideal.

There is some urgency and my hope was that we might be able to reach out to nurses throughout Vermont (particularly in the Southwest region) who might consider fostering this child.

I would be happy (and eager) to speak with someone about how we might structure this request and if you felt it was appropriate to share with your audience.  As you can imagine, the urgency of finding a suitable home has increased. The child has had to remain in the medical facility due to our not finding placement. I’m hoping you can help and would be grateful for a conversation.

My cell is (802) 730-0289 and, I am also available via email.  Both Carmina Garciadealba and Kim Keefe, who are overseeing this case are also available to speak with you
