COVID-19 study

Posted almost 4 years ago by Meredith Roberts

Dear Colleague,

In the span of just a few months, COVID-19 has become a global pandemic that has redefined our daily lives. So many questions about COVID-19 remain unanswered, and research is essential to bend the curve and save lives especially for nurses and other healthcare workers who are on the front lines of this pandemic.

Rush University Medical Center, in partnership with the American Nurses Association (ANA), is interested in studying factors that place healthcare workers at greater risk for coronavirus infection and worse outcomes post-infection particularly changes in sleep, shift work, and alcohol consumption.

We are asking you to participate in a study to determine which nurses or healthcare workers are at increased risk of coronavirus infection and have worse outcomes when infected.

Below is a link to a survey that takes 30-40 minutes to complete.  All responses are anonymous to the investigators and ANA and your data is deidentified and cannot be traced back to you. Your decision to take part in this study is voluntary and will not affect your affiliation (or lack of affiliation) with ANA in any way.  We intend to present the results of this survey at future ANA and other meetings.  Please consider taking the time to participate in this important initiative that should help us to protect our nurses and health care providers.
